it's been a while... I never met my grandfathers, but both were govt refugees from the democratic Chinese party that fled to escape the brutal attacks from the invading Communist party. They had to leave their old families and abandon everything about their old lives. They fought valiantly (sometimes through guerilla methods) to fight for the freedom and democracy of their fellow country men and against the destruction of important cultural artifacts that the Chinese people took so much pride in.

we still stand with you brothers. We stand with Taiwan and Hong Kong, and with our Myanmar brethren in these times of turmoil that challenge your rights to freedom and identity.
